Upcycling: Rain cover for window boxes

Protective roof against rain for balcony boxes of metal hangers from the cleaning build - how it works:

I've been collecting these metal hangers for years; You can really use it for all sorts of handicrafts. For example, have I just made of such ironing rain protection roofs for my strawberry planters (1-m flower boxes for the windowsill) tinkered, otherwise this year probably nothing with the red fruit:

  1. I pulled the lower longitudinal part of the stirrups outward with my hand to a blunt point (went very lightly), left the rest as it was. With the hanging hooks ahead (for the stability dranlassen) then each a shaped bracket on the left and right at the end of the box so stuck into the ground, that the blunt point now forms each end of the roof ridge, the temple itself almost the (open) gable of the shelter (that is, transverse to the length of the box).
  2. Correspondingly cut, strong transparent film stretch like a roof over the box, attach to the brackets (I have stapled) and finished the rain cover. When the sun is shining again, the straps and the foil are quickly removed and can be stowed away to save space for the next use.

Since the parts are already in use and it pours out of buckets outside, it's nothing to do with a mission photo. Maybe later ...

(I was just thinking that these roofs could be great as protection for the cold spring nights, to push the growth a bit and bring the crop forward, then perhaps cover with bubble wrap - which insulates better, but then the roofs during the day I have to try it next spring ...)
