Use and use poultry shears in many ways

A poultry shears can be used and used in many ways. Just breaking the Christmas goose would not be enough action for my poultry shears, it's always at hand in my kitchen and serves all sorts of purposes.

You can do it

  • Cut flatbread
  • Harvest or cut herbs
  • Cut spring onions
  • Cut cheese or sausage slices for casseroles or pizza
  • Pizza cut (the coating does not slip and the baking sheet is spared)
  • Cut meat, e.g. Halve schnitzel meat in half, cut chicken breast for goulash / sliced meat
  • Cut off the fat margin from the meat
  • cut cooked spaghetti, e.g. if you want to use leftovers for a salad
  • ...

These were just a few examples. Which foods do you use your kitchen or poultry shears for?

I also have a normal household scissors in the kitchen, which I use only for food, and which in many cases works well (for example, when the poultry shears are in the dishwasher). But in difficult cases, the poultry shears has proven itself, because it better handles when cutting and thus does not slip.

A pair of scissors has the advantage over the knife that you can cut freehand, so no pad needs. You can cut over a pot, a bowl or a plate and drop the cut right where you want to continue using it. And even if it's already in the pot, still go with the scissors. One discovers e.g. One too big piece of meat in the soup and can cut it with the scissors, without getting it out beforehand.

The leverage and the two blades require much less force than cutting with a knife. One notices above all with the pizza.

The scissors should be made of stainless metal, suitable for food and dishwasher-safe. When the kids were young, I was glad about the safety lock.

To cut slices of bread, cheese, sausage, etc. of course, I still prefer to use a knife, but if that is just in the dishwasher, is hardly safe from my poultry shears!
