Vanilla Cake Pops

After wishing, here is the recipe for my vanilla cake pops.

Cake pops are a great thing, especially for cake buffets, birthdays or any other event where it's hard to eat your cake off the plate. They basically consist of three things: a pound cake, an "adhesive" (in this case pudding) and a coating. There's no limit to creativity at Cake Pops.

Now for the recipe: First you need the sand cake. Which one does not matter. I have baked the following recipe especially for the pops in these cake pops, but also remnants can be used in this way:

  • 125 g of margarine
  • 150 g of sugar
  • 125 g starch
  • 125 g of flour
  • 2 teaspoons of baking soda
  • 1 egg
  • (and possibly vanilla sugar)

preparation

  1. The ingredients are made into a dough and baked at 180 degrees (about 1 hour)
  2. Now you have the main part ready for the cake pop, which can also stand a day or it will be nibbled.
  3. It then goes to make the actual cake pop. As I said, I took custard here. But also jam, jelly, cream, cake cream remnants or anything else that "sticks" can be used.
  4. I used about half of a custard packet for the above pie dough. This is prepared after the package leaflet and allowed to cool.
  5. Once this is done, the entire sand cake is crumbled as small as possible. Pay particular attention to the margins, which sometimes defend a little. ;)

From now on, I recommend disposable gloves, because now it is gematscht.

  1. To the cake crumbs comes gradually from the pudding or the other glue and it is kneaded and mixed until a dough is formed, from which can easily form balls that are as big as a lollipop.
  2. These are then placed on a plate for about 15 minutes in the refrigerator.
  3. In the waiting time you can cut the shashlik skewers - simply shorten to the desired length - and melt 200 g of chocolate of your choice in a water bath. I have taken dark chocolate, but again everything is possible.
  4. Now remove the cake balls from the fridge and let the chocolate from the flame, but in a water bath, otherwise it will be thick again too quickly.
  5. Now the stems are attached. To do this, take a stalk and dip it into the chocolate and then put it into the ball. This prevents the later decoration, the falling of the stems.
  6. Once all the balls have settled, they are returned to the fridge for 15 minutes.

During this time you build up your Dekoarsenal.

  • I took two sprinkles.
  • If necessary, place the chocolate on the flame again in a water bath to make it liquid again.
  • Now the cake pops taken out of the fridge, packed on a stick, dipped in the chocolate until they are completely covered, a little bit the surplus abgezwirbelt and then fix the decoration on it so that it still sticks nicely.
  • Now put the finished cake pops in a piece of styrofoam or in the shoe box lid!
  • Let it dry and have a good appetite!
