Vinegar production by vinegar nut

You get yourself a bottle of "vinegar" in the drugstore or health food store and take the cheapest red or cider you can get, as then usually unsulphured and mix it with warm water in a glass balloon. The mixing ratio is usually on the bottle with the vinegar nut.

Close the top of the balloon with a coffee filter or cloth so that no dust but oxygen can reach it, because the vinegar bacteria need oxygen to grow.

Swirl the balloon bottle a few times a day to mix the liquid and after about 3 weeks at room temperature the vinegar is ready to be filtered off.
