Washing shoes in the washing machine
Sure, I work in a shoe store and have done the training there and learned "shoes do not belong in the washing machine". But who knows, they've just taken pains to clean their shoes, and they're dirty again. Over time, I tried to put my shoes in the washing machine and voila, so far nothing has happened to me. However, not every model in my washing machine works for me. Shoes that are partly or entirely made of leather or those made of synthetic leather do not come in. And besides, I only wash trainers. My approach
- For stubborn stains my shoes are first treated with ox gall, which solves any stains in my eyes.
- I also take out the shoelaces and treat them (if they are white) with ox gall and put them in a laundry net.
- If possible, I'll take the sock out of the shoe and put it in the washer. "Tricky" shoes which have rivets or other things on the shoe, I put in a laundry net so that they fall less.
- I usually wash several pairs together, as many as just fit into the machine.
- I use normal detergent and softener.
- I run the shoes at 30 ° C or even at 40 ° C. To recommend would also be a gentle wash program.
- After washing: Since I have removed the shoelaces, I can easily pull the tab out of the shoe and put it "outside" so that the shoe is "open". That's how it dries super. If you are still too slow, you can put newsprint in it (and change it again and again).
- The shoelaces are nicely together thanks to the laundry net, therefore quickly found and put together. These are naturally hung up to dry. I can not tell you exactly how long the drying time is. But please be quite sure that he is really dried before you put him on.
- After drying: Since I was "drunk" a lot of the work and I learned a lot, I always think of an impregnation. So I impregnate my shoes right after washing and drying.
- Nothing works without a shoelace, so I also thread it back after drying the impregnating agent. Done is the whole witchcraft.
