Delicious and fast lunch for hot days: watermelon with feta.

Several years ago, I discovered this "Greek" recipe in a magazine. Since then, this is our favorite lunch on hot days.


The advantage: Very fast and easy to make, inexpensive, delicious and also filling. What's the use of the best food when everyone starts looting the chilli after half an hour ...

So, it starts: You just need good cold watermelon, feta cheese, freshly grated pepper.

preparation

  1. For 2 people I take a good half watermelon and cut into cubes.
  2. Also dice the feta cheese.
  3. Put them together in a bowl, add freshly ground pepper and mix.
  4. The mixing ratio is about 1/3 feta and 2/3 melon.
  5. We like to eat freshly toasted bread with some butter on it.
  6. It really tastes so delicious and fresh and makes you really full.

One more tip:

Look for good quality melon! Recently, I had one from the Discouner, which had so many cores that I was almost disgusted. In the fruit shop, I bought the next, which was a bit more expensive, but the quality and taste was just great!

The feta I buy at Lidl or Netto, because there's a big box with 1500 g in it for around 5 euros. Advantage: he lies completely in brine and holds in the opened can quite a long time. The feta in the plastic packet is in the opened pack easily "fermented".
