Where does the breakfast egg have the bubble?
My breakfast eggs come with me in the boiling water, so I can cook them to the second. Therefore, I have to poke a hole in the shell, so that the egg does not burst. But sometimes that's not so easy, if the egg is shaped more symmetrical or the eggs are sitting in the wrong place in the egg carton.
I am very meticulous about my breakfast eggs: I know exactly how long they have to cook so that the yolk is soft, but the egg whites are firm. Made to measure. To achieve that, I put the eggs in the boiling water and then set my timer (it's 6 minutes for me).
It is well known that there is a bubble in the egg. If you do not touch the bowl on this bubble, the egg bursts because the heated air in the boiling water expands too quickly. The method of putting the eggs in the still cold water is too imprecise.
So far so good. If all goes well, then the eggs are the flatter (blunt) end up in the egg carton. There is the bubble. But what if both ends of the ice are (roughly) the same? Then you do not know where the bubble is when you have taken the egg out of the box without thinking. Or if the pointed end is up in the egg carton because they've been put in the wrong way? Then I always started guessing ... Where do I risk the hole now? If one is wrong, the egg bursts or the protein runs out and coagulates. Everything is not so cool.
Now by chance I came to the following:
You simply lay the eggs in cold water for a short time. The bubble of course floats up and you know where to piss!
That may be completely clear to one or the other, for me it was a revelation :)
PS: In the picture, the moment is captured, as I found out: I made hard boiled eggs for dinner, these eingepikst for safety sake (they were right around in the box) and have them in the still cold water. The page with the bubble was up! Buy now
