Winter Breakfast
Here's my recipe for a breakfast that's good for the immune system, tastes good, is low in calories, and goes pretty fast. I always do this when I feel like a cold is coming or if I want to get rid of some winter bacon.
We need:
- 4 tablespoons natural yoghurt
- 50 ml of milk
- 1/2 apple
- 1/2 orange
- about 40 g of oatmeal
- 1 teaspoon of flaxseed
- a piece of ginger - I really like ginger and take a piece that is about as big as my half a thumb.
- raisins
- Some lemon juice
- cinnamon
preparation
If you can not stand this cold in the morning, first mix the yoghurt and the milk and heat it up a bit in the microwave. But it's just as cold. The apple and orange are cut into small pieces, the ginger with the grater. Oatmeal, flaxseed, raisins and lemon juice add a bit of cinnamon to taste. Mix everything well.
Apple, orange and lemon juice have a lot of vitamin C. Ginger is a miracle weapon anyway: it counteracts vascular diseases and cancer, is good for digestion and has an anti-inflammatory effect. Raisins sweet and give energy quickly. Flaxseed is good for digestion and helps against constipation (and helps to digest the oatmeal). Cinnamon has a positive effect on blood sugar levels.
If you take skim milk yoghurt and low-fat milk, the breakfast only has about 300 kcal.
