Wollstrang wrap around chair legs around the ball

My latest handcrafted project is a triangular scarf made of lace wool. Like so many hand-dyed yarns, wool came to me as a strand. Since I did not have anyone around whose wrists I could stretch the strands for unwinding, I came up with the idea of putting a low chair upside down = with my legs in the air:

Carefully cut the ends 1x (see below for details!) - lay over two chair legs and off you go with the winding around your own hand! This technique turned out to be even more relaxing than with the help of another person, because the thread came from the floor and I could hold my arms according to my personal well-being and only then could wrap relaxed!

Maybe just make sure that there is no screw / nut on the chair legs, behind which the thread can hook behind - it would be a shame, if the (not always cheap) yarn had to be knotted and later sewn in a knitted fabric :-)

Here is a hint on the technique of the "own-hand-wrapping": There is a great description on the net, which is great and after which I have been working since my childhood. The instructions can be found at www.sockshype.com/wolle-vom-strang-zum-knaeuel-wickeln/.

Maybe / hopefully one or the other will find out something in this tip! Have fun wrapping and knitting!
