Wristwarmers or gauntlets from old wool stockings

If you have holes in woolen stockings, you can either stuff them elaborately or use them to make wrist warmers or cuffs for arms or legs.

Just cut off the foot part (so that you get the tube for the legs). To prevent the pulse warmer from fraying at the cut edge, place a matching fabric strip or border over it, fold it inwards and sew it on by hand or with the sewing machine.

Knee length stockings can be used to make longer gauntlets, either for the arms or the legs.

You can decorate the edges as you like, e.g. with lace, small buttons or a decorative border.

Of course it also works with other discarded garments, e.g. with the sleeves of old sweaters.
