Mysterious aroma - lavender sugar from our own production.

In many gardens is now in early summer a particularly beautiful flowering shrubs in bloom and exudes a wonderful fragrance. Yes, that's how the summer smells. It is one of the oldest medicinal plants, the lavender.

You can also use it for seasoning and flavoring desserts. Anyone who thinks of the intense scent of fresh lavender or even perfume is mistaken. It gives a somewhat mysterious aroma, e.g. Turning a simple butter cookie into a true delicacy. Sweetened with lavender sugar strawberries from the field with this sugar scented reminiscent of the wonderful taste of small wild strawberries. For sweetening tea or cream you have a very special taste experience.

In France, reaching for a shelf in the grocery store (and going to checkout!), You can carry this specialty home and try it out. Here with us, a little patience is set before the enjoyment. After all, the fresh lavender must be thoroughly air-dried after picking. To do this, hang a bundle upside down in a sun-warmed but still shady place. After about a week, rub off the flowers on a clean cloth and fill them generously with a teaspoonful of teaspoonfuls - you know, the sachets for self-filling. Fill half of the screwed glasses with granulated sugar, put in a lavender bag and fill up to the top with sugar. If you are not bothered by loose flowers, you can also veer for the tea bag.

Now it's time to wait - at least fourteen days - after that you can try it.

And notice - it's just a very fine taste nuance - but that's something very special.
