For a long time, I just bought carefree because I already trusted the cashiers, and at some point began to factor in the food in the shopping cart, which is the final amount at the cash register. It's very easy, most phones have a calculator function, so you do not even have to do mental calculations. Is also relatively inconspicuous, then looks just like you would write a short text message. Within a few days, I noticed several times that I was betrayed by cashiers (deliberately or unintentionally ...), sometimes with very nice sums. There was e.g. a more expensive piece "accidentally" pulled twice over the cash register, which I noticed immediately at the final price; otherwise I would have the bill if ever checked at home! Additional advantage: You can already be out in the queue at the cashier raussuchen small change and thus less easily removes the annoying cent-pieces in the wallet, without constantly annoyed waiting to reap glimpses.
