Clean clogged drain

Have today with the following method within 10 minutes, with stagnant water, my clogged shower tray drain (siphon not removable) cleaned.

It is required:

  • Suction cup / Pömpel
  • Vinegar + baking powder
  • bin liner

Recommended:

  • gloves
  • chewing gum

This is how it's done:

First, scoop out the stagnant water, then the removal of the dirt later much easier. Then remove the cover and place the suction cup / Pömpel on the drain.

Tip:

Grab some chewing gum and start chewing because the clogging material smells very unpleasant.

Press the suction cup firmly and pull it out again. In the expected case now emerges a blackish mass. It is advisable to proceed in smaller stages (for example sucking 3 times), so you have time and in peace you can take out the already conveyed material and throw it in a garbage bag. In the sink or the toilet is not very advisable, since the stuff known to be clogged. I used a total of 3 stages á suck 3 times, then there was a cork noise and the water has drained again.

Important here:

Quickly move the material in the tub away from the drain and, if necessary, hold the hand as a barrier in front of the drain, so that only the water flows out and the material does not clog the drain again.

I then got the leftovers from the siphon and the tub. A pair of pliers is not necessary, because I recommend anyway that you then use the vinegar baking powder method for fine cleaning.

It requires 3 tablespoons of baking powder or 1.5 small packages from the discounter and half a cup of vinegar. Add the baking powder to the siphon and the vinegar afterwards. It starts to bubble, stops bubbling, rinse off hot water. So the cleaning effect should last even longer.
