Grandmother's apple fritters
Ingredients for the (slightly liquid) yeast dough
- 150 g of flour
- 1/4 l lukewarm milk
- 1/2 packet of yeast (dry or fresh, does not matter)
- grated lemon peel of 1 lemon
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
preparation
Put the flour in a bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in the milk and add to the flour. Add the lemon peel and a pinch of salt, make a smooth dough and let it rest covered for 15 minutes.
Peel 3-4 apples, remove core and cut into small pieces. Add together with 2 eggs and 2 tablespoons chopped hazelnuts to the dough and stir well. Bake the apple fritters in a pan with hot fat and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Enjoy hot. This fits a vanilla sauce or even a vanilla ice cream.
