Homemade eggnog

Total preparation time: 20 min.

The amount gives about 1 liter of eggnog.

ingredients

  • 10 fresh yolks
  • 300 g of sugar
  • 2 Pck. Vanilla sugar (if you like you can also take 2 scratched vanilla sticks)
  • 300 ml whipped cream
  • 400 ml of grain or double grain

preparation

  1. Whisk the egg yolks in a metal bowl and stir in the sugar and vanilla sugar.
  2. Place the whole on a pot of hot water (water bath) and, while constantly beating, heat the mixture. This dissolves the sugar better (if the egg liqueur is thus more durable, I do not know, maybe you have a "better" feeling because of the raw eggs - they are quite fresh, but of course!).
  3. I did not measure the temperature, but you could still do the finger test. In any case, heat gently so that it does not become scrambled eggs.
  4. So, now add the cream and the grain. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved. That was all.
  5. Now pour the liqueur through a tight sieve into jars or vials. With me there were 4 medium jam jars full. Store in a refrigerator.

Just tried and yes, just delicious. I think that will not last long, but there is still grain there, I'll make another big bottle of it next week.
