Know on which side the gas cap is
Anyone who often travels with different vehicles knows the problem: The tank is almost empty, you want to drive to the gas station and then you ask yourself every time: on which side is the fuel cap on this car?
Finally, you want to sort at the gas station so that can be quickly fueled and not with the hose around half the car around. Although you actually have a fair 50:50 chance, it's amazing how often you can miss.
Meanwhile, almost all manufacturers have taken over the good idea of the Japanese and indicate the position of the gas cap next to the tank symbol on the dashboard with an arrow. See my photo. By the way, the fuel cap is on most cars of European manufacturers right, with Japanese makes left, so always on the side facing away from the driver (so I've always noticed that earlier!)
