Neck support pillow sewn and filled by hand

Many of you have probably bought more than one neck support pillow and are always disappointed with the shape and quality of sleeping comfort. You can also sew and fill your neck support pillow yourself.

Buy in a craft or bedding department or in craft shops filler material, which consists of small plastic beads, but at 60 (sixty!) Degrees in the machine are washable.

Do not let others (but cheaper ones) "spin". Then buy a pillow case of your choice (material made of 100% cotton, which encloses every pillow filling - fine or thicker). From this first sew a cover, which is probably larger than the final finished pillow - this depends on the intended use: Travel - at home - on the beach as a neck support pillow while reading ... Then fill with the material and try several nights:

1) Is the mass of the filling correct? what to take out or supplement

2) If the pillow has the right shape (longer or wider ....) - if necessary, reduce it later.

If you have decided, then select jersey fabric (nice elastic) in quality and color and sew a matching cover - of course, with zipper or even use the fabric of the old bedding.

The whole thing I once worked for a friend who was almost desperate, as far as buying pillows ...

Of course, wash all purchased fabrics beforehand, so that they can be stored if necessary and do not cause a nasty surprise.

Instead of plastic filling, you can of course use ecologically consistent Kapok, hemp, horsehair, spelled, millet, natural latex flakes.

Remains of the filling material e.g. for stuffing Christmas decorations or tinkering.

Another tip for the self-sewing of large bedding parts or similar: There are the great bed linen zippers (the no zipper!) In a manual labor department to buy - hurray!
