Velcro shoes become "sociable"

Sandals or sandals, but also sports shoes with Velcro closures are practical, but in my eyes look good only if you do not see the protruding Velcro.

Since the purpose of the adjustable parts is to adjust the width of the shoe to the foot, it is usually the case that a third or even half is visible. This does not look appealing to any shoe.

If you do not have to constantly change the width of the respective shoe (due to illness), you can easily remove the protruding Velcro strip after a single test of the exact fit.

I really do not like the visible Velcro on this type of shoe, whether it's elegant or sporty, and I do not like wearing shoes like that. So I thought about a solution:

On an older pair of sandals, which for some reason I did not wear anymore, I ventured a try before disposing of them, and here's the result:

  • I tried on the sandals and adjusted the straps with Velcro fastener as it fits mostly to my wide foot shape. The end of the leather tab I marked on the Velcro with ballpoint pen.
  • Using a nail scissors (alternatively seam breaker), I carefully loosened the visible protruding and thus not needed Velcro tape and removed it.
  • The straight interface I stuck with universal adhesive.
  • After drying, I put the top flap back on the rest of the Velcro:

Nothing is visible, nothing is over.

You can reduce the size even after the? Treatment? and even a minimum magnification is still possible because the Velcro is usually very generous. So you can wear the shoes with slimmer feet, as it is common in the morning, as well as in the afternoon, when feet are possibly a little swollen.

The shoe width is measured best in the afternoon, because then the feet then usually have adopted their usual form. Are you too far in the morning carrying, you can adjust it more closely, as this is still possible at any time unlimited.

On photo 2 and 3, more can easily tell the difference.
