Cats: To prevent the scratching on the sofa inconspicuously
Our cat does not whine his claws on furniture, walls or on the sofa, stretches and stretches but likes and usually with two legs on the floor standing on the couch side, so makes himself long and clings it in the leather. There are no scratches, but ugly little holes, as you can see on photo two.
For a short time we have just because of the holes a new sofa, which we had made to measure and whose careful treatment is very important to us.
In order to take the pleasure of our daily stretching exercises for our darling, I have bought two very simple toilet roll holders made of metal and put them in front of the corners of the sofa: he does not like the cat yet and he avoids this "thing".
The very simple brackets, which are available for less than 1 Euro, are inconspicuous enough not to sting but scare our cat off the fun of his gymnastics.
I also noticed that he apparently does not like the (new) smell of leather and does not feel comfortable on the sofa anymore. Perhaps this is an additional tip for those who have scratching problems with furniture: There is a leather smell spray (Auto department). This could possibly protect all sofas of the nation from ugly scratch marks.
