Float heavily soiled leather shoes again

Unfortunately, while home improvement, I accidentally stained my old, but still beloved Clarks leather shoes with a decent amount of white paint. Since the shoes are already very old, I wanted to continue to use them first as garden and work shoes. But then I felt sorry for her, so three days later I tried to clean her up. I did not have much hope, but then I realized that it was amazingly easy - and so:

Remove the laces and scrub the shoes with tepid lukewarm water, saddle / leather soap and an old nail brush. The deeply indented paint remnants that resist the brush are then rubbed away with a suede or dirt eraser. Wash the shoes thoroughly afterwards, dry them and stuff them with newspaper. Let it dry for one to two days, if necessary renew the paper in between.

If the shoes are dry, they are examined again for color residues. They are removed with the eraser. Then the leather is saturated with a good shoe polish (such as kiwi) rubbed, which is best applied with a brush, so even bottlenecks such as the seams get enough cream. Let it dry for one hour. Then it is thoroughly polished with a polishing brush. And ? tataaa! The shoes are like new again and shine "like a hip eye".
