Continue to use used placemats

When sorting out some outdated placemats I came up with the idea to use them elsewhere instead of disposing of them: I use them as a cutting mat for vegetables and meat!

But only thin fixed placemats (as in the picture) should be used; So not the thicker with foamed back.

I have been using the illustrated placemats for a few weeks as a cutting pad, and although it has some interfaces of extremely sharp knives, they are certainly not badly damaged.

The cuts are only superficial and will not work.

Another advantage is that the placemat, together with the sliced vegetables / meat, are rolled up a bit and can be poured through a funnel into a pot, bowl or pan.

Of course, the set will not last forever, but for a few months, it serves a good cause, especially since I do not like these white plastic boards, as they discolor unappetizing after a short time.

Wooden boards are too unhygienic for me to cut on and on glass boards my knives dull.

You do not have to try it, but you can: decide for yourself!
