"Gestovtes" vegetables - Preparation without roux

My husband likes to eat gestovtes vegetables. But I finally wanted to get away from the roux! A few days ago I once again made an onion soup. Onions are sweated, and then dusted with flour.

And there I tried something, and it worked wonderfully!

The day before yesterday I had meatballs with carrots. I cooked the carrots. The cooking water is then poured into a container. Sprinkle about 1 1/2 tablespoons of flour on the carrots and whisk.

Then gradually with the cooking water poured until I had the consistency that I wanted. A small "stitch" of butter and a small dash of cream (can, but does not have to) cream, and it was better than with this high-calorie roux!
