Help abroad: Mobile phone photo as a translation tool
When we made a visit to Spain, the car broke down on the way.
Since we all do not speak Spanish so well or at all, we helped ourselves with photographing the necessary spare part and were thus able to "tell" the gas station attendant what we needed. It worked well!
fabesimo: My new neighbors do not speak German and I could not find a translator with Moroccan. No, they do not speak French either. Young woman with 2 very young children. So we talk with hands and feet.But when they lost their key outside with house number and floor as a sign on it and my son brought them they were not at home. And it was already after 9 pm. I stay a long time but I did not want to be at the window all the time. But you like to tell that the key is with us and it can still ring. But how ?
I also photographed the key, then our clip with a finger on it rings and both printed on a sheet. And an arrow in between. Maybe I'm not the smartest after 9pm but it rang shortly after 10pm. An acquaintance translated the days how happy she was when she saw the picture. You could see that when she was standing in front of our door.
She is currently learning German and was on the evening of the course. Only if someone comes and says bad luck if you can not speak the language.
That's what I hear already when I hung it down. Guests of the pub smoking there found the total class to be so stupid to behave. Why she is here and does not speak German is when you do not come in with children in the evening, it does not really matter. You certainly do not know where you lost it.
I think the idea is good too.
