Longer clean windows through rain deflectors
Freshly cleaned windows quickly turn red and spotty after the next rain. But you can preserve the shine.
In the trade (car accessories, eBay) there is a means called "rain deflector". This is actually intended for car windows, so that the water rolls off nicely (by the way, a brilliant thing!).
But you can also use it to preserve windows on the house with it. The slices must be treated directly after brushing by rubbing them thinly on the glass with a kitchen towel.
Then it is sprayed with water and further incorporated with a cloth in circular movements and dried.
The window pane thus gets a kind of "lotus effect", the rainwater pearls off better and there are no dirt spots when drying back. The whole lasts at least a whole year long, much longer than on heavily used car windows.
The rain deflector is believed to be a solution of silicone oils in isopropanol. It is available in small blue vials.
