Remove water marks on smooth leather shoes

In the summer you do not expect that the shoes? Schneeränder? to get. After the rainy summer party it had happened. The black smooth leather shoes looked cruel. With onions the ugly water spots could be removed.

I always thought, the bright spots of water on the shoes you get only in winter from the snow, especially if even salt is strewn. But no, the morning after the? Sommerfest? I was taught another.

So I got rid of the spots again:

  1. First I stuffed the shoes to dry with single socks that I had filled with cat litter out. (This is my use for lonely socks that have separated from their partner). (Picture 2)
  2. Then I took half an onion (I happened to have only red earth beads in the house) and rubbed off the shoes thoroughly. (Photo 3) The water edges disappear optically very fast, if you look closely, but you see that then just a margin in color of the leather remains. Therefore, with the onion in circular movements or criss-cross over the edges of the stains and squeeze the onion again and again so that onion juice comes out. It is probably synonymous with half a lemon or vinegar.
  3. Repeat this procedure several times until the last margins have disappeared. To work on very stubborn spots, I'm with one hand in the shoe inside and pressed from the inside with the hand and from the outside with the onion. Now I have to look with the magnifying glass to discover the edge. (The right shoe stuffed green, was more affected, as you can see on picture 4 still a slight edge, and because I have worked again, he shines in some photos not so strong).
  4. Then wipe the shoes with a facial tissue / oilcloth and then cream thoroughly with black shoe polish.
  5. Now I let them stand still with the single socks cat litter shoe dousers until they are completely dry inside. The onion half is next to it, if still a water margin dares again.
  6. Before the next summer party? I bend and impregnate the shoes before. If something happens, I now know what to do.
