Save important documents by e-mail - for precaution

Very important documents or elaborated handouts that should not be lost, I send for safety and my own reassurance to myself, via my e-mail server (eg gmx, web.de, Yahoo).

In the case of human or technical failure, if for some reason my hard drive should be damaged, I can still access it on another PC.

I know there are programs like Cloud or Dropbox for that. But I find this solution more practical because I do not need these programs otherwise.

Also for the holidays, it is a reassurance to be able to retrieve important in an emergency. You can also delete the stuff if they are out of date.

Sensitive data such as bank details should not be treated like this, because of phishers. Even if the case does not happen, I feel safer with this approach.
