Semolina slices according to Mum's recipe

Since we eat less and less meat, I've been thinking about what my mother always cooked like that. We were a lot of children, so there was only meat on Sunday. But my mother was a very good cook and so tasted very simple recipes excellent.

Today I would like to introduce you to semolina cuts, which are also more common with me now.

ingredients

  • 1 L of milk
  • 250 g semolina, I take durum wheat semolina
  • Salt, I do after feeling, maybe 1/2 tsp
  • 2 eggs
  • Fat for baking, I take coconut oil

preparation

  1. First bring the milk to a boil, stir in the semolina, cook over low heat for about 5 minutes, stir, so that nothing burns. Leave to soak for about 1/2 hour.
  2. Then a box mold is lined with foil and the mass filled. It must be fairly compact, smooth the surface. Best kept cool overnight.
  3. For the preparation, tumble the mass and cut into slices of about 1 cm. Add 2 eggs to a plate and heat the fat. Pull the slices from both sides through the egg and into the pan until they are golden brown.

This is best tasted plum compote.
