Soda is strong - even for the litter box
A litter box often smells unpleasant, whether cleaned or not. Maybe you know litter box deodorant, such as from Gimpet. A few amounts of it mixed into the litter, they neutralize the smell quite well, besides, they also often have baby powder, lavender, vanilla or orange fragrance. For years I used these, was also very satisfied. Now the only problem: a pack costs about 7 euros or more.
Lately I have become a passionate supporter of SODA. In addition to bleaching laundry, excellent cleaning, soda can also prove to be a top pet accessory:
Sprinkle a teaspoon of soda or sodium bicarbonate (in Austria under "soda ash" in drugstores and well-stocked supermarkets available for about 1 Euro / 900g), actually is just as baking soda, on the litter and mix well. The smell that the litter of cat excrements has taken off is gone! Since soda also absorbs moisture, the litter is also drier.
Much cheaper than deodorant products, but at least as effective, productive, keeps you dry! Also very helpful when washing the litter box as soda bleaches, cleans and disinfects! The litter will last longer!
