Spend oil sparingly and precisely

Economical "oil spray" for e.g. homemade mayonnaise: Who wants to dose oil precisely and economically, whether it is because of a diet or a single prescription or because you need it drop by drop in a Mayo recipe, which is helped with a syringe.

Sometimes they are used as dosing aids in medicines, e.g. with fever juice for children. You can also get it at the doctor or in the pharmacy.

The "oil syringe" that I use in the kitchen (from the fever juice), fits exactly on the closure of olive oil bottles.

This is quite simple:

  • Put syringe on and press on
  • Hold the bottle flat (the syringe seals well)
  • Raise the oil
  • Read off on the scale and correct if necessary
  • Add oil drop by drop to the egg yolk

Bottles of sunflower oil usually have a wider opening. But even there, you do not have to be afraid that the syringe falls into it or oil leaks when you put it on: The brim of the syringe seals the bottleneck quite well. Here the bottle no longer transversely but only slightly oblique.

Dosage: 1 teaspoon is 5 ml, 1 tbsp is 15 ml.

But beware: The information in mg or other scales on the syringe refer to the active ingredient of the drug to which it was attached. Only the information in ml is relevant.

After use, you can wash the syringe by hand, (a thin brush is helpful) or in the dishwasher.
