Unscrew the strainer from the sink drain and clean it

Sometimes it does not smell so pleasant in the kitchen in the summer. Then it's time to thoroughly clean the strainer from the drain in the sink.

The tip is important if you have no dishwasher like me and washes everything by hand. This leads to more deposits in the drain strainer and of course in the tube. Of course, the pipe needs to be cleaned regularly, but that is a very nasty and time-consuming job.

In between, I clean the upper part of the drain, namely sieve, edge and screw. First unscrew the sieve, then carefully remove the dirt with cleaning wire, old toothbrush and kitchen towel. Do not use water as it may drip! Therefore clean sieve and screw in a bowl with rinse water. Dry the edge of the drain dry and finally screw everything together again.
