Buy old cookbooks
Take a look at eBay or Amazon for old cookbooks! Some time ago I bought the following book for 1,50 EUR:
"Practical Cookbook" by Mary Hahn. This is ancient, but it is fantastic! First of all, it holds countless old recipes, but it also reads almost like a novel. Among other things, how to slaughter different animals except it is about old vegetables ...
It is really nice to read, I also refer (in addition to modern recipes) sometimes advice, but for the price, totally unbeatable! I have already ordered "Granny's Kitchen", and am ready for further, especially because it is really, very entertaining for a cooking freak like me.
Check it out for you ... it certainly also affects other topics in which there are old books for a cent amount, which does not provide current knowledge, but provide great insight into their time and entertaining!
