Remove wine margins from glass carafe

If you, like me, like to drink a good red wine and serve it stylishly in a decanter carafe, you may be familiar with this problem: After a while, unattractive, dark edges form on the bottom of the decanter, which can only be removed with hot water.

These edges can be perfectly removed with (do not laugh) denture cleanser. Simply fill the carafe halfway with water, add a cleaning tablet, let it soak, and after a while the edges are gone, you do not even have to scrub. Then rinse hot, so that no "taste" of the cleaner remains.

I prefer this method rather than any strong cleaners, on the one hand because of the possibly remaining taste, and on the other hand, because I suspect that denture cleaners, because you put the denture back in the mouth (no, I have no experience) , less worrying is :-)
