Create a Swedish light

This is how these beautiful Swedish lights are made with ease:

material

  • A five-liter bucket
  • water
  • A candle or a string of lights

manufacturing

Take a bucket of water and put it out, into the cold (minus degrees). The water now freezes from the outer rim of the bucket to the inner area. Also on the surface of the water there is a layer of ice, which later forms the bottom. After the water is frozen (1-2 nights, depending on temperature and bucket size), the excess water is poured out of the bucket and the "ice block" from the bucket away. You have to shake a bit, if necessary, pour some warm water over the edge of the bucket from the outside. Carefully handle with the water, otherwise you accidentally build an ice slide! The bucket has done its duty and can now be set aside.

Now you look for a nice place in the garden, on the balcony or the terrace and put a candle or a string of lights in the interior of the "ice block" (safety guidelines and implement). Enjoy the Swedish feeling!

In the photos, unfortunately, can not see so well that I gave a few small leaves in the water. The imagination knows no bounds, conceivable would be in addition to leaves and flowers and nut shells or, if children are involved, for. As food coloring, Lego bricks or similar items. Large yoghurt and quark mugs are also ideal for smaller Swedish lights. These are quickly made even in the freezer!
