Continue to use dry cake base (biscuit)
Each one of us bought a sponge cake before and did not need it ... After a while it is dry and can not be used as a cake base anymore.
Tip 1: crumb the sponge cake and crumble to shape. (Tastes better than breadcrumbs)
Tip 2: make Rumkugeln.
1 cake base (biscuit) (also like dry, the rum gives moisture) (children take apple juice)
6 tablespoons rum
200 g chocolate (bittersweet)
50 g almond (s), ground
125 g butter or margarine, soft
n. B. Chocolate sprinkles, nut brittle, chopped pistachios or grated coconut
Finely crumble the sponge cake with your hands. Drizzle the rum and let it soak in for about 15 minutes.
Meanwhile melt the dark chocolate in a water bath. Mix the dissolved chocolate, the ground almonds and the soft butter in a bowl. Then stir in the biscuit rum crumbs. Cool the mass for about 30 minutes.
Then make small balls with your hands. The balls in the end in Schokostreusel o.ä. roll. Store until cool.
