Express nail polish remover from the tin - do it yourself

This tip is about how to make yourself an "express nail polish remover from the tin". This is especially useful on stubborn paints like all glitter and sand nail polishes.

Why you need the nail polish remover in this form:

Recently, one of my friends wanted to remove glitter nail polish, to be precise sand varnish, and only had normal nail polish remover there. Anyone who has ever done that, knows that this sometimes takes forever, that you need at least three cotton pads per nail and a total of very much nail polish remover. The glitter sticks to the nails like the proverbial pattex.

With these express nail polish removers in the jar, which you can buy in the store, that would be faster, but we did not have one there. That's why we quickly made one ourselves, with very few utensils:

  • 1 small tin that you can close tightly. Glass or solid plastic, not too high
  • 1 bottle of nail polish remover
  • 1 dirt eraser or pot sponge

Insert the dirt eraser into the glass. He must be very stuck in it, so he does not turn, if necessary. Use a second, which has been cut in half. Then fill in nail polish remover, the sponge must be soaked. Then turn your finger in and turn it well. And that's it! If necessary, rework any residues with a cotton swab soaked in a remover.

The nail polish remover pot can be used many times. If the contained remover is used up, you can either wash out the sponge or insert a new one. My tip does not save a ton of money, but shows how you can quickly do something practical without having to go to the store. And it was fun!
