GEZ release: that's how it's possible
The fee collection center unfortunately makes headlines again and again. Rarely positive. For some years you pay annually 210, - Euro broadcasting fee, whether you use the offers of public broadcasters or not.
Many do not know that they can get rid of the license fees. That's no big deal. You submit an application to the contribution service in Cologne. The forms can be downloaded from the internet or obtained from an authority.
Entitled to be exempted are people who receive:
- BAföG
- Recipient of vocational training assistance
- Asylum seekers
- Recipients of education allowances for young people who do not live with their parents
- Recipients of assistance to livelihood
- Receiver of basic security
- Recipient of social allowance or ALG II
There is a whole range of claimants, such as disabled and deaf-blind people. It makes sense to find out about the relevant jobs.
If an application for exemption or reduction is denied, then you have the right to object to it.
My advice: check all circumstances that affect you personally and if necessary make an application, even if it only leads to a reduction of the contribution payment.
Nobody has to give away money, certainly not to the GEZ.
