Some time ago I stopped the recipe for rhubarb porridge. Following the same principle, I also cook gooseberry groats, which are currently in high season.
ingredients
- gooseberries
- Pudding powder or cornstarch
- sugar
- some water
preparation
- I put the cleaned gooseberries in a pot with a little water. (On a kilo of berries I give about 200 ml of water.)
- I let these two ingredients cook until the berries are soft.
- Then I blend pudding powder or cornstarch with a little cold water and stir this liquid into the boiling mass. For the aforementioned amount, I take a packet of pudding powder or 30 g of cornstarch.
- The whole thing has to cook until the liquid looks somewhat glassy and no longer dull.
- Because gooseberries are real muhltreckers, which means they are sour, you have to sweeten them well. The amount of sugar you have to determine to your taste.
For some years I cook with the Thermomix. The pomegranate is done even faster: I put the berries, water, sugar and custard powder into the mixing pot and set the temperature as 100 ° and as time - 10 minutes, depending on how warm or cool the ingredients are.
Good Appetite!
