Viennese home cooking - popular leftover food

ingredients

  • 2 bread dumplings
  • 2-3 boiled potatoes
  • about 80-100 g meat (or small pasta) cooked
  • 1 onion

The amount of dumplings, potatoes and meat should be about the same.

preparation

  1. Cut the onion into small cubes, the dumplings and potato into small, bite-sized pieces.
  2. Lightly brown the onion in fat (I always take margarine), then toast the pieces of dumpling and potatoes and finally mix in the cooked pieces. Please do not use the fat too sparingly.
  3. Season strongly with salt and pepper and you're done! If you like, you can also add a little diced Debrecenian. Serve well with beet salad.

The dish is always with us if there was dumplings the day before and is also very popular with the children (but without sausage!)
