Ingredients for a Guglhupf form

  • 250 g butter
  • 250 g of sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 350 g of flour
  • 1 baking powder
  • 1 vanilla sugar

  • 1 tbsp rum
  • grated peel of a lemon
  • 100 g raisins soaked in rum

  1. Mix the warm butter and sugar vigorously with the hand mixer or the kitchen machine until the sugar has dissolved. Gradually add the eggs.
  2. Mix the flour well with the baking powder and the vanilla sugar and gradually stir into the egg butter sugar mass. Now the almonds, lemon, milk and EL rum are added to the dough and mixed in as well. At the very end, the lemon peel and the rum raisins come to the dough and are also mixed in well.
  3. The Guglhupfform is painted with butter or margarine and sprinkled with breadcrumbs. Now the dough is filled and the mold comes for 45 minutes in the preheated to 180 degrees oven. If necessary. The heat can be reduced to 170 degrees after half of the baking time, so that the cake does not become too dark.
  4. After the baking time, make the stick sample, if the wooden skewer stays dry, the cake is cooked and can be taken out of the oven. I leave the mold for half an hour and then crash the cake onto a plate. After the cake has cooled completely, I mix either icing sugar and milk or I put a chocolate coating on the cake.
