Keep garden shoes handy

Once I stepped into wet garden shoes too often to get the trash out quickly, I came up with this solution (see photos) to keep the garden shoes handy.

We hung the shoes (Crocs) on hooks directly to the door. My husband has made a hole in each shoe with the drill so they do not fall so fast. The garden shoes are now hanging between the kitchen door and the storm door (we are in the USA) and stay there quickly and dry.

From the inside you can only see the shoes when the kitchen door is open and also from the outside it is relatively discreet. You could certainly do the same inside a cellar door. We also used hooks that can only be glued on and removed without leaving any residue.
