Keep individual socks

Home for lonely, single socks: I have a small bag near the washing machine, in which I always pack lonely socks.

On the one hand, the socks come in, whose partner is missing (for example, because he is only in the next wash load, or because he plays hide-and-seek with me under the bed). When the second sock reappears, I immediately know where the first one is.
On the other hand, I park the socks there, whose partners had to make their way into the dustbin because they were full of holes. Since I often use the same type of socks, I always have a replacement sock at hand when I have to throw away one next time.

Probably one or the other has done so for years, but I've come to it recently.
