Keep individual socks

Home for lonely, single socks: I have a small bag near the washing machine, in which I always pack lonely socks.

  • On the one hand, the socks come in, whose partner is missing (for example, because he is only in the next wash load, or because he plays hide-and-seek with me under the bed). When the second sock reappears, I immediately know where the first one is.
  • On the other hand, I park the socks there, whose partners had to make their way into the dustbin because they were full of holes. Since I often use the same type of socks, I always have a replacement sock at hand when I have to throw away one next time.

Probably one or the other has done so for years, but I've come to it recently.
