Keep large appliances away from water damage

If there is not already a concrete floor increase in basements, are suitable as increase and stable pallets, ideally with a continuous plate to protect expensive electrical appliances such as washing machines, dryers, freezers, etc. in case of basement flooding from water damage. Insurance or not.

For us it fits, for example the washing machine just on it, so the corners were secured with iron angles and of course the washing machine feet balanced - for safe standing when spinning.

Especially in old houses, in which Hauskanalsanierungen have not yet been made or in land where the groundwater level is high (therefore have in the latter, many new buildings do not have a basement), worth this precautionary measure.

Often, the existing plinths in concrete floors are not high enough (in our case it was), an additional increase with a pallet would be even more optimal - we have NOW of all the devices that are in the basement ... (hoists a washing machine on "something" while the broth from all holes in the cellar presses!

Unfortunately, the (bad) weather conditions have become more unpredictable and more serious in recent years. Basically, we were glad to have had "only" wet basements without damage to the equipment. The water flowing back from the sewage system into the house can develop devastating forces. We did not even stop in front of a 3-times secured inspection shaft, the backflow flaps were shredded - fortunately not our devices. What does it say: safe is safe!
