Koulourakia recipe

These delicious Koulourakias were formerly baked in Greece only for Easter. Meanwhile, they are produced every season. Especially for breakfast they are eaten with us.

ingredients

  • 250 g of sugar
  • 300 g of butter
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 pck vanilla sugar
  • 2 pck. Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp deer horn salt
  • 1 cup of milk
  • about 1 kg of flour
  • 1 egg to brush

preparation

  1. Put all ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Add so much flour until the dough becomes firm, that can be up to 1 kilo of flour depending on the size of the eggs.
  2. Make the dough finger-thick, form 10 cm long rolls and twist into cords.
  3. Brush with a beaten egg and bake for about 10 to 15 minutes at 200 degrees.
