Making bangles out of ice stems ~ DIY

You do not have to throw away old ice stalks. With a bit of imagination, this makes little bracelets for children.

To make cute bangles from the stems, the wooden handles for the children's arms must first be bent. For this to happen, they must be cooked in a pot of water for about 50 to 60 minutes. After the hot water bath, the stems can be bent without breaking. To make the shape of a bangle, the wooden sticks are clamped in glasses, cups or small mason jars. In these glasses, the bangles now have to dry well for 24 hours.

If the tires are dry they can be taken out of the glasses and decorated. There are no limits to the imagination. Some of my bangles are decorated with origami paper with napkin technique and some with decorative tape.

This is needed:

  • Ice stalks or wooden spatula
  • Glasses, cups or mason jars
  • Pot for cooking the wooden stalks
  • For decorating: Colorful paper, glue or decorative patch, colorful tape or beads and stickers
