Remove the candles - prevent soot and smoke development

Candles in the room create a cozy ambience and are pretty to look at, but unfortunately, many people shudder and smoke very much, but you can prevent that with this tip.

  • As nice as it is to blow out a candle, but it always smolders and smells something. I prevent that from happening with an object z. B. an old knitting needle directly after blowing the wick bend over the liquid candle wax and right up again. The smoke stops immediately and the wick is practically covered with wax so that it will be better lighted next time.
  • Thick candles should be allowed to burn longer, with premature extinction, otherwise forms an edge and this edge again obstructs the uniform supply of oxygen and it starts easier to slobber. Otherwise, I always try to cut the already higher edge with the scissors, so that they can get enough oxygen again, especially with decorated candles, this is often the case, they do not burn down evenly, so you should help.
  • Before making a candle you should use a pair of scissors to shorten the wick a little, to about 1.5 cm, so that it smokes less and the wick does not fall into the candle dish with wax, because burnt wick in the wax, of course, begins to break down ,
  • Ignite with a lighter instead of a match, because the match breaks off slightly after ignition and falls into the liquid candle dish, even then it will burn very quickly.
  • Not to forget, every candle needs a lot of oxygen to burn. It is better always to open the window first, let in enough oxygen and close it again, because it is clear that the candle reaches the drafts. Naturally it starts to smell and burns unevenly.
  • Keeping candles in the freezer helps keep them burning longer, so you can have a candle for longer.

Another tip from me:

Many buy z. As scented candles in the glass container, unfortunately, it is often the case that the candle burns down only in the middle, the lateral edge but stops all around. That was often the case with me. I once tried to wrap the glass around twice with aluminum foil and then I lit it. The aluminum foil helps to expand the heat, so that the wax can melt on the edges and so you have a uniform candle again.
