Easter is coming up and who likes to bake and also has time to sacrifice this for baking, I would like to present this recipe for an Easter truffle (we like this also for an ordinary breakfast very much), imagine.

I have used dry yeast (this saves you the steam.) You just have to mix all the ingredients well with the dough hooks of the mixer (no big "food processor" necessary.) But let it rise, you have to do the dough of course.

  • 200 ml of milk (lukewarm)
  • 100 g butter liquid, heated
  • 70 g icing sugar / powdered sugar

  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp rum
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 egg yolk for the "glaze"

preparation

  1. Mix the dry ingredients and then add the rest of the ingredients.
  2. Knead for about 5 minutes with the dough hook until the dough comes off the edge of the bowl.
  3. In the oven, preheated to 40 ° C, let rise for 1 hour. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth. The dough should have doubled.
  4. Roll through the dough with your hands again and let it rise for another 30 minutes in the oven.
  5. Now the braiding begins with 4 strands: Divide the dough into 4 skeins and roll it out with your hands on the lightly floured surface, with the middle part of the dough rolls being thicker.
  6. Now you have the 4 lengths in front of you and split them into 2 left and two right, pressing the upper corners firmly together. There is room in the middle (like an inverted "V?").
  7. Now take the outer strands and overlap them crosswise in the middle of the "V"). Now you take the outer strands again and do the same. Always take the outer strands and cross over in the middle. This continues until the end of the strands is reached. Press the end of the 4 strands together again. It is difficult to describe, but if it seems too complicated, simply braid a 3-strand braid. That does not detract from the taste.
  8. Now place the striezel on a sheet of baking paper and let it rise again for about 30 minutes in the oven (this is still set to 40 °).
  9. The striez has risen a bit and now it is brushed with the whisked egg.
  10. While treating the striez in this way, please heat up the oven to 180 ° and bake the strudel for about 25-30 minutes.

Tip:

In the dough you can mix a handful of raisins (which are not wanted by some people).

You can also sprinkle with almonds on the stripe, which has been beaten with whisked egg, but be careful when baking, because they can easily burn!
