Repair damage (small dents) in the wood
A table top or steps of a wooden staircase e.g. made of pine wood with many small dents (depressions) in the surface does not look good anymore. You can easily repair this damage, with a needle pierce small holes within these dents, then give 1-2 drops of water in the dent, possibly repeat. The water should swell the wood and most of the dents have disappeared.
Then sand off with a fine sandpaper in the direction of the grain, remove dust and then finish with natural paint (varnish) either glossy or matt twice! I wish you success!
