Share perennials with the foxtail

In garden counselors it is often advised to divide perennials with spades after 2-3 years, and then dig them in again to rejuvenate them. That's right. Unfortunately, very few women have enough strength in their legs to work with the spade, e.g. to share lignified roots. I therefore take a foxtail (such a saw with a wooden handle). This allows me to separate the roots cleanly and without effort. In addition, it provides clean interfaces and the roots are not injured.
