Braised chicken thighs in yoghurt sauce in the Indian style


Preparation time: 15 min.
Cooking or baking time: 55 min.
Total preparation time: 1 hr. 10 min.

The braised chicken thighs in the Indian style are so beautiful tender and are incredibly delicious!


  • 4 chicken thighs
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 4 - 5 cups of natural yoghurt
  • 1 bunch of coriander
  • 1TL curry powder
  • 1 tbsp chilli flakes
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp
  • 2 teaspoons paprika powder
  • 2 teaspoons of Garam Masala
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tsp tandoori powder or paste (if you do not have one, you can omit it)
  • Salt pepper


  1. Wash, dry and cut the chicken thighs.
  2. In a large enough bowl, mix the yoghurt with the spices, the soy sauce, the garlic, the onion and the chopped cilantro and mix well.
  3. Now add the chicken pieces, cover well and marinate in the fridge for 3 - 4 hours.
  4. Approximately Remove from the refrigerator 30 minutes before the baking time to reach room temperature.
  5. Bake in the oven at 200 degrees for about 40 minutes, then stir, turn the chicken pieces and brown again with a grill function for 15 minutes.

You should probably look more often and set the temperature higher or lower.

Naan bread, Roti or rice are a good side dish as well as a tomato salad.
