Christmas decorated lantern

A nice souvenir for Advent visit or a decoration for your own home: Christmas lantern from a coffee glass.

My husband drinks instant coffee and I have collected some glasses. The angular shape is doing very well as a lantern.

All you need is:

  • Any Christmas decorations that you usually have left over
  • Packing tape or ribbon
  • Artificial snow
  • 1 tealight per glass

This is how it's done:

  1. The screw cap is wrapped with ribbon or - who likes it more rustic - with packing tape
  2. Any decoration is hung on it - either festive or modern - to adapt the colors
  3. Into the glass comes some artificial snow, possibly matching Streudeko as star and a tealight

It is of course important to ensure that the glass does not burn unattended, although it never burned with me as a candle lover.

Whoever is unsure gives an additional small glass, e.g. a schnappspinnchen on the artificial snow and put the tealight in there or used from the outset battery-powered tealights.

This small quickly made decoration is well received as a gift and also looks very nice on your own windowsill.
